Get Tested

Will my parents know if I get tested?

In the U.S., HIV tests are either anonymous or confidential. With anonymous HIV testing, your name is not linked to your test results, so no one will know you got tested except yourself. With confidential testing, your name is recorded along with your test results. Your results may be made available to medical personnel and state health departments, although this information is kept confidential and protected. Talk to your health care provider before taking the test if you have any privacy concerns.
